“For myself photography is an art form involving different stages of creation and being aware, not only of the surrounding environment but also my subconscious thoughts, feelings and dreams.”

Award-winning fine art photographer Antonio Gouveia conjures striking black and white images from land and seascapes. Born in Madeira, Portugal and currently based in Portsmouth, England, photography has been a part of Antonio’s life for as long as he can remember, “taking snapshots here and there until the day I started seeing it in a completely different way – a new and magical world, full of possibilities. From then on I wanted to create images according to my vision.”

Antonio’s current work is characterised by a minimalist approach to his subject matter, influenced by all types of art in their endless variations, subjects and forms.
